This battery energy storage system, a 9.9MW/9.9MWh BESS, represents our client's strategic expansion of one-hour energy storage resources. This addition brought their operational BESS portfolio to 24 systems, contributing to Texas’s projected leading position in U.S. BESS deployment for 2024, with an estimated 6.4GW of new capacity.
We began as the owner's engineer on the project, delivering key oversight and expertise in the initial phase. It wasn't long before our client recognized our value and elevated us to the position of Prime Engineer of Record (EOR) for the project.
The success of this collaboration led to us becoming the Prime EOR for all of our clients' subsequent BESS projects. At the time of this project's completion, we were engaged in the 31st project with this client, as part of a substantial 50-project portfolio.
As Prime EOR, we were responsible for the comprehensive engineering design, ensuring the project met all technical specifications, grid integration requirements, and regulatory standards.
Our expertise was instrumental in navigating the complex landscape of ERCOT’s rapidly evolving energy storage market, contributing to the timely and successful commercial operation of this project.
This project showcases FastGrid’s ability to adapt and excel in the dynamic field of energy storage, demonstrating our capacity to handle large-scale, multi-project portfolios and our commitment to driving the transition towards a more resilient and flexible power grid.
